Nice Day Off
Today I didn't have school, and my sister isn't coming until tomorrow. I didn't have much I really needed to get done so I had a pretty nice, relaxing day. I slept in, listened to some Harry Potter (I'm trying to get through all the books on tape), went shopping, and splurged on Cold Stone ice cream. I finally bought a turkey but I'm not sure if I just went to late or I was looking in the wrong place, because I couldn't find a small one. I ended up getting an 18 lb. turkey for just two of us. It's a good thing I love love love left overs. And that you can freeze cooked turkey. I don't really mind, but I hope it doesn't go to waste in the end. Too much is better than too little, right?

To do: buy a turkey
It's almost like a Friday! I love that. It even felt like a Friday. One of the two teachers I worked for had a sub the past two days and yesterday I spent the day stressing and trying to clean up the messes that the sub created in the classroom. Today I decided it wasn't my responsibility and let the class go to ruins. I spent the majority of my time in the other teacher's room and got to watch Disney's Hercules while correcting science tests. One of the questions was "Why is it warmer in the summer than it is in winter?" The answer of course, is because the Earth is tilted. There was a couple of students that put science out of their minds and wrote, "Because it is hotter in the summer and colder in the winter." Duh. Another student had the same idea, but tried to bring the science aspect back into the answer: "Because in winter the coulds are 'stopin' the sun's rays." Man, I wish those clouds would just clear off one of these winters.
I saw Ghost Town tonight and really enjoyed it. It made me laugh out loud quite a bit, which would make Sarah cringe. As I was watching I thought the dentist guy was pretty funny and that he probably was in the BBC's Office. When I got back I looked him up on imdb.com and it turns out that he is. So. I don't know what any of that means for him or me, but there you are.

New Week
I like Mondays. They are early release days at the school that I work at, plus the classes don't do much after lunch since they play dodgeball to reward the students that got their work in the previous week. The students were getting on my nerves today. One of my classes had a sub so he changes all these class rules and then when I tell the students to do what they're supposed to I get a blast of but-he-said-we-coulds. And a lot "why"s. Why? Because I said so. Now stop talking back.
But they're cute too. Miss McIntire! Did you see the Twilight movie? Miss McIntire! Look at the bruise I got at recess! Ms. McIntire! I got an apple in the lunch room that had spider egg pouch on it! What's your favorite book, Miss McIntire? To answer the question: no. I didn't see the Twilight movie. I'm not all that eager to; I did read the book but wasn't so impressed. Maybe that means I'll actually enjoy the film more. I do love movies.

I got married!
Well, in my dream I did. I decided to marry this boy even though I didn't really love him since I figured it was inevitable. My mom was quite sweet and threw together quite a nice little wedding. There was a small ceremony followed by a small reception. I was able to visit with the guests--all from my home ward in Virginia--without any interruption from the groom since he never showed up. I guess that didn't change the fact that we were married.
The next time I saw him I expected him to say something about it, but he acted normally. I mentioned the wedding casually and he gave me a weak apology. Since I wasn't particularly excited to figure out living arrangements or financial matters I didn't say anything more.
I like waking up and noting how my thought processes, actions, and the things I say in my dreams are so like me. The situations are ridiculous sometimes, but I am very sure that I would react just as I did in my dream.

Saturday

The BYU vs Utah game was tonight. Dissapointing to say the least. We lost 48-24, but the saddest part was the 6 overturns. Megan and I went to the Hinkley Alumni Center to watch it. It was nice being with other fans. Brings back nice memories of going to the football games. We really need to get season passes next season. Since it will be my last (hopefully)!
Afterwards a small group of us went to Macey's and consoled ourselves with a Kong Kone from Macey's. Those things are huge--and cheap. This wasn't mine (I got chocolate of course) but this gives you an idea. And, just like me, I finished it off. My dad first introduced me to them when we were visiting family in UT. So they make me think of him. And when I was younger. My sister, Sarah, and I would compete to see who could eat theirs the slowest--last person to finish their cone won. It was quite fun for us, but I can remember other family members getting frustrated. ("If you're not going to eat your ice cream then next time I won't buy you one!")
Then we played some games. I wasn't so hot at UNO, or Pit, but I was blowing everyone one else out of the water in Pictionary. I love playing games, but sometimes I am a bit competitive and it seems to scare people. Which I don't like. But it's not that I'm mad or anything. I just like to win. And cheat. Not that I cheated today (though I did try and sabotage the Pit game at first). I think it's an awful lot of fun to see what you can get away with, or pull right under other's noses.
Sarah is coming next week to visit a couple of days. Thanksgiving break and all. It will be my first Thanksgiving spent in UT. No traveling for me this year. In the past I've always taken advantage of those days off school to go out of state, though I do have a grandma and other family that lives nearby. And now that I'll be here my grandma has gone off to Virginia to visit my parents and sisters. Melissa (who's in Korea) wants Sarah and I to make a short video of us making Thanksgiving dinner. It's for her students who are learning English.
