And another thing.
I forgot, but you should all know. I woke up this morning feeling 100%! Yes. No more sniffles for me and I'll be all set to see family. *Knock on wood.*
Nothing to do--I love it!
The last two days I haven't done much at all. Yesterday I went out once in the morning when Megan went to Wal-Mart to get her tires checked and found out she needed them replaced. Then I came home and I haven't been out since. I've watched 4 or so movies, have spent too much time on my computer, and believe it or not, I'm starting to get a little bored. Not bored enough to do anything productive, mind you, but bored nonetheless.
With all the time I've had, I am eating better (or worse). Today I made a cake and some hamburger, rice, and gravy. And the next couple of days I'll eat well too as I'm going to grandmas. Not that my life revolves around food, but it's something to look forward to.
I thought I'd be doing more to get ready for the holidays, but I'm pretty much set. I got my three little cousins a book. A board book for little Kara with a cute bunny finger puppet, a truck book for Mark complete with wheels, and a learning to read book about the Disney princesses for Lauren. And then a Dr. Suess compilation book with 13 of his stories in it. Ben and Jen are getting a $10 gift certificate (lame I know) to Blockbuster with a basket of soda, candy, and popcorn. Grandma said she didn't want anything and that she had enough junk to deal with so I got her a $10 gift certificate to Wal-Mart and a box of chocolate covered cherries. And for my other various aunts/uncles I got them a couple of boxes of Lehi Rolling Mills mixes or whatever. And me and Megan wrapped them all on Sunday.
Mom and Dad said they sent a gift to me express so it should come before Christmas, but I really won't mind if I don't have anything. It never really feels there is a Christmas day when I'm here in UT. Just a holiday season. Dad asked me what I wanted, and I told him I couldn't think of anything, but then I remembered some things that are on my list. I want a new xd card for my camera, since I lost the one I bought this summer, and I want Catch Phrase, a game I played for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I need to remember that for my birthday.
And now I have to get back to my life of nothingness. I think I'm going to watch Pride and Prejudice for the next 5 hours.

An Update
Apparently I'm not updating enough for my fans. Truthfully I've been pretty busy. But most everything is finally done. School is out for two weeks which is not long enough. And.....I got my immediate Christmas shopping done! Yay! Ben and Jen, my three little cousins, Grandma, and a few aunts and uncles done! Now I just have my entire family which will have to wait at least a day, cause I am shopped out.
Oh. Bad news. Remember what my fear was? Yeah. Getting sick. So the past couple of days I haven't been feeling so hot. And the last two I've had a mild runny nose. I think that's it. I hope so at least. It doesn't feel like it's getting too much worse. I do wish that the Dayquil or whatever would work though. And another thing. It's snowing like it's got to make up for November. It's been snowing now for the last three hours those big snowflakes that take all the fun out of catching them.
Megan left this morning to go to Arizona. She's coming back next Monday so I've got a week to fill. I'm may spend the day with Jen tomorrow depending on how I'm feeling. And then on Christmas Eve I'll go to Grandmas and stay at least through Christmas Day. Then I have some things I'd like to get accomplished. I want my room to be clean. And I want to watch some movies. And read some. And Erica is coming into town so I think I'll probably spend some time with her.
So that's it. Not too much to catch up on. I can drive in the snow. Just so you know. And I need to trim my bangs.

Want to know what I'm not missing? Snow. It's what--December 9th, and we haven't had any major snowfalls. Nothing that's lasted more than a couple of hours on the ground. Only one incident where traffic was slowed a bit. It definitely getting colder though and I can tell it's not going to hold off much longer. I did go out and get a coat this season. I decided after four or so winters spent in UT that it was about time.
I'm getting worried about getting sick. Today Megan had six kids absent. The flu is going around; the cold is going around; everything is going around and I'm going to get it. That's just my luck. But I really can't be sick during the holidays or I won't get any Christmas at all. I figure I'll probably spend Christmas at Grandma's and maybe go visit Ben and Jen. Or we'll probably have a dinner so maybe I'd just let them come visit me, but the point is that if I'm sick I certainly can't go visit relatives. Grandma's health is bad enough without worrying about that sort of stuff and the rest of the family has little children. Man, that would stink.
School is still going. Sleep is still a problem.

I need sleep.
Megan and I used to be on a pretty good schedule. We'd wake up around 6:20 and get to bed around 9:30. I think Thanksgiving break messed us up. Or at least me up. Now we're going to bed around 1:00 and getting up around 7:00 which is okay by me since I don't need to be at work until 9:00 am, but it makes Megan stressed and grumpy not having her time before school to get things done and finish planning. The plan is to leave school today around 4:00 and be in bed by 6:30. We'll see how that goes.
I had a good day at work. I felt really productive and proactive. This afternoon I was dropping off some papers and a couple of students asked me if they could take down the Halloween decorations. I told them that it wasn't my classroom and that they'd have to ask their teacher. A boy replied, "Yeah, but you're the one in charge." It made me laugh.

It's the Holiday Season
So loop-de-loop, Scooby-Doo, where are you? He'll be coming down the chimney *mumble*!
Yay! So Erik came over tonight and delivered my first Christmas present for the season. And my roommate put up a "festive" purple Christmas tree so it's really starting to feel like the Holidays are approaching. And the gift is....a clue, or something. I don't really get it, so maybe my only reader can help me out on this one. It's a curtain panel with the number 6 on it, but it's also wrapped, and I'm pretty sure something else is inside. But it's fairly light, and fits in the curtain panel wrap thing pretty easily. He told me what the rest of his gift recipients got, but all I remember is that his sister-in-law got a box of raisins with the number eleven. I don't think I'm going to be able to figure it out.

Too short.
I can't believe I'm already back at school. Now I'm counting down the days until Christmas break (16!). I'm excited about the break, but I'm still not sure what I'll be doing. I'll definitely be staying in Provo. And I'll probably go to my grandma's for Christmas day, and perhaps spend some time at Ben and Jen's. They just got a new place which means that I'll have to visit Grandma and them separately. And that I have to think of a good housewarming gift. Any ideas?
Megan's birthday was yesterday. We went out to dinner, but we're going to celebrate it with friends on Saturday. While brainstorming of things we could do, Shannon and I came up with an amusing idea: go on ldsmingle.com, and find 6-10 guys and invite them over at the same time. Then let the fun begin. Unfortunately ldsmingle must have changed their policy on chatting since the last time Shannon or Megan was on there. It used to be that if you didn't pay you could still accept chat invites from paid members. Now you have to pay to chat at all. So it's a no go on that idea. I still think it would be rather funny.
Oh, and Shannon, who's leaving in a couple of weeks asked me if I wanted to use her car until she comes back (February, I think). Yes, please! That will be SO nice when Megan goes home for a week.

Nice Day Off
Today I didn't have school, and my sister isn't coming until tomorrow. I didn't have much I really needed to get done so I had a pretty nice, relaxing day. I slept in, listened to some Harry Potter (I'm trying to get through all the books on tape), went shopping, and splurged on Cold Stone ice cream. I finally bought a turkey but I'm not sure if I just went to late or I was looking in the wrong place, because I couldn't find a small one. I ended up getting an 18 lb. turkey for just two of us. It's a good thing I love love love left overs. And that you can freeze cooked turkey. I don't really mind, but I hope it doesn't go to waste in the end. Too much is better than too little, right?

To do: buy a turkey
It's almost like a Friday! I love that. It even felt like a Friday. One of the two teachers I worked for had a sub the past two days and yesterday I spent the day stressing and trying to clean up the messes that the sub created in the classroom. Today I decided it wasn't my responsibility and let the class go to ruins. I spent the majority of my time in the other teacher's room and got to watch Disney's Hercules while correcting science tests. One of the questions was "Why is it warmer in the summer than it is in winter?" The answer of course, is because the Earth is tilted. There was a couple of students that put science out of their minds and wrote, "Because it is hotter in the summer and colder in the winter." Duh. Another student had the same idea, but tried to bring the science aspect back into the answer: "Because in winter the coulds are 'stopin' the sun's rays." Man, I wish those clouds would just clear off one of these winters.
I saw Ghost Town tonight and really enjoyed it. It made me laugh out loud quite a bit, which would make Sarah cringe. As I was watching I thought the dentist guy was pretty funny and that he probably was in the BBC's Office. When I got back I looked him up on imdb.com and it turns out that he is. So. I don't know what any of that means for him or me, but there you are.

New Week
I like Mondays. They are early release days at the school that I work at, plus the classes don't do much after lunch since they play dodgeball to reward the students that got their work in the previous week. The students were getting on my nerves today. One of my classes had a sub so he changes all these class rules and then when I tell the students to do what they're supposed to I get a blast of but-he-said-we-coulds. And a lot "why"s. Why? Because I said so. Now stop talking back.
But they're cute too. Miss McIntire! Did you see the Twilight movie? Miss McIntire! Look at the bruise I got at recess! Ms. McIntire! I got an apple in the lunch room that had spider egg pouch on it! What's your favorite book, Miss McIntire? To answer the question: no. I didn't see the Twilight movie. I'm not all that eager to; I did read the book but wasn't so impressed. Maybe that means I'll actually enjoy the film more. I do love movies.

I got married!
Well, in my dream I did. I decided to marry this boy even though I didn't really love him since I figured it was inevitable. My mom was quite sweet and threw together quite a nice little wedding. There was a small ceremony followed by a small reception. I was able to visit with the guests--all from my home ward in Virginia--without any interruption from the groom since he never showed up. I guess that didn't change the fact that we were married.
The next time I saw him I expected him to say something about it, but he acted normally. I mentioned the wedding casually and he gave me a weak apology. Since I wasn't particularly excited to figure out living arrangements or financial matters I didn't say anything more.
I like waking up and noting how my thought processes, actions, and the things I say in my dreams are so like me. The situations are ridiculous sometimes, but I am very sure that I would react just as I did in my dream.

Saturday

The BYU vs Utah game was tonight. Dissapointing to say the least. We lost 48-24, but the saddest part was the 6 overturns. Megan and I went to the Hinkley Alumni Center to watch it. It was nice being with other fans. Brings back nice memories of going to the football games. We really need to get season passes next season. Since it will be my last (hopefully)!
Afterwards a small group of us went to Macey's and consoled ourselves with a Kong Kone from Macey's. Those things are huge--and cheap. This wasn't mine (I got chocolate of course) but this gives you an idea. And, just like me, I finished it off. My dad first introduced me to them when we were visiting family in UT. So they make me think of him. And when I was younger. My sister, Sarah, and I would compete to see who could eat theirs the slowest--last person to finish their cone won. It was quite fun for us, but I can remember other family members getting frustrated. ("If you're not going to eat your ice cream then next time I won't buy you one!")
Then we played some games. I wasn't so hot at UNO, or Pit, but I was blowing everyone one else out of the water in Pictionary. I love playing games, but sometimes I am a bit competitive and it seems to scare people. Which I don't like. But it's not that I'm mad or anything. I just like to win. And cheat. Not that I cheated today (though I did try and sabotage the Pit game at first). I think it's an awful lot of fun to see what you can get away with, or pull right under other's noses.
Sarah is coming next week to visit a couple of days. Thanksgiving break and all. It will be my first Thanksgiving spent in UT. No traveling for me this year. In the past I've always taken advantage of those days off school to go out of state, though I do have a grandma and other family that lives nearby. And now that I'll be here my grandma has gone off to Virginia to visit my parents and sisters. Melissa (who's in Korea) wants Sarah and I to make a short video of us making Thanksgiving dinner. It's for her students who are learning English.
